Most golf related injuries are 'overuse' type injuries related to swing faults and problems with your body. It's very unusual for a golfer to have a single traumatic impact type injury, which you might commonly see in contact sports like Rugby League or Rugby Union. Due to the nature of overuse golf injuries, a detailed knowledge of the mechanics of the golf swing, and how these relate to your body, is essential to effectively solve the problem. In most cases, altered mechanics in one part of your body cause compensations that ultimately result in injury in another part of your body. This scenario, where the site of pain is due to problems elsewhere, requires a thorough examination of your body to identify the primary problem area and the compensations that are causing the problem.

Our knowledge of the interaction between your body and the golf swing allows us to identify these problem areas efficiently and resolve them quickly.

Many golfers we see have injuries not directly related to golf. For example back or neck pain related to sitting or travelling for long periods at work. At High Performance Golf we look at your injury in the context of you as a golfer, not just at the injury itself. We will keep you playing if at all possible and not just tell you to take some time off golf!

Once your injury has settled we can then develop your program to prevent recurrences and further enhance your performance.
